MD Swimmers are permitted to swim in all meets provided they show their Classification Card to the Referee at the commencement of each session.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Meets will be conducted under the rules of Warringah Amateur Swimming Association Inc. (WASA).

2. Entry Fees: $4.00 per individual event & $8.00 per relay entry for the Jenny Oates Championship Meeet and both 14 & Under Peninsula Challenge meets. $2 per individual event and $4 per relay event for the Handicap Meet.

3. Pool Admission: $2 pool entry fee for swimmers & spectators for meets held at Warringah Aquatic Centre, collected by WAC staff (subject to Warringah Aquatic Centre conditions)

4. Entries: (with Summary Sheet attached) to all WASA meets close with the Race Secretary at 10 Kangaroo Road, CollaroyPlateau. 2097. 8 pm on the Monday 12 days prior to the meet. Entries may also be sent electronically. Entries will not be accepted without a WASA Registration Number and an ENTRY TIME. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED.

5. Conditions of Entry:

A. Swimmers must be WASA registered members of an affiliated WASA swimming club.

B. An OPEN event is open to ALL swimmers 8 & Over

C. Peninsula Challenge Meets: - (a) Clubs may enter mixed teams (boys and girl together) in the relays. Competitors may only enter an event according to their age classification, e.g. a 9 year old MUST swim in events restricted to 9 year olds and is ineligible to swim in 10 year old events.

D. Jenny Oates Championship:- In the Relay Events, clubs may enter mixed relay teams but they must compete in the Boys Relay.

E. Handicap Meet:

    • INDIVIDUAL EVENTS: Swimmers may enter one Freestyle and one B/B/B event.
    • No age restrictions – all events are open, swimmers from toddlers to veterans are welcome.
    • The Race Committee will automatically change any entries in 50 metre events with times slower than the maximum entry time indicated in Handicap Meet table under 'Entry Restrictions', to an entry in the 25 metre event with the 50m entry time halved.
    • Finals will be held for all individual events. First and second place in each heat (after discarding disqualifcations) will proceed to the Finals. The original Entry Time is used for handicapping the Finals.
    • CLUB RELAYS: Clubs are limited to two teams in each relay event.
    • The break time for the 8 x 50 metre relay events will be set at 16 seconds.
    • In the event that there is more than one heat, the winning teams will be determined as the teams with the best break times (i.e. not more than 16 seconds faster than the entry time).

Determination of Age:

A. AGE AT DAY OF MEET

7.  Determination of Placings:

A.  All WASA meets (with the exception of the Handicap Meet) will be conducted as timed finals.

B.  Heats will be seeded according to times submitted by competitors on the entry cards.

C.  WASA reserves the right to alter unrealistic entry times.

8.  Trophies:

A. Peninsula Challenge Meets - Medals will be awarded for 1st , 2nd & 3rd place in each age group.

B.  Jenny Oates Championship Meet - Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group in 50m events. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each OPEN event.

C.  Relays - Ribbons will be awarded to each swimmer in teams gaining lst, 2nd or 3rd place in each relay event.

D. Handicap Meet - Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placegetters in each final. Ribbons will be awarded to the first 3 placings overall in the relays.

E.  Records - Warringah Records will be recognised by awarding a "District Record Certificate". (For Record purposes age is determined as of the day of the meet.)

9. Point Scores:

A.  Points for each meet will be awarded as follows : 8 points for 1st place descending to 1 point for 8th place. Where two or more placings are given as equal , the appropriate points shall be allocated for that placing and the next numerical placing (and points) shall be omitted.

B. Where a swimmer is disqualified, no points will be awarded

C. Club Pointscore: will consist of points awarded for all events (as per 9A) during the season with a Perpetual Trophy awarded to the Champion Club.

10.  Age Champions - Jenny Oates Championship Meet: Points will be awarded to swimmers in each 50m event they swim in and these points will go toward the age champion pointscore for 8/U, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15-29 & 30/Oyrs. Points will be awarded to swimmers in each OPEN event they siwm in & these points will go towards the OPEN Champiopn pointscore.
