General Conditions

  1. Meets will be conducted under the Rules of WASA.  Any swimmer who does not swim in accordance with the Rules will be disqualified.
  2. Entry Fees:
    Indoor Meets: $5.00 per individual event; $10.00 per relay team.
    Outdoor Meet: $2 per individual event; $4 per relay team
  3. Pool Admission: (set by Warringah Aquatic Centre for meets held at the WAC):
    Swimmers: $3.30
    Spectators: $4.20
  4. Closing Dates for Entries
    Entries close as per the dates above on the Online Entry System, by 9.00 pm.
    Entries without an entry time will not be accepted.  Late entries will not be accepted.
    Please note all entries must be submitted to your Club Race Secretary who will most likely require your entries earlier than the dates listed above.
  5. Conditions of Entry
    1. Swimmers must be registered members of a WASA affiliated swimming club.
    2. Open events are open to all swimmers who meet the qualifying time.
    3. Where an event has a qualifying time, intending swimmers must have recorded a better time than the qualifying time set.
  6. Relay Condition of Entry
    1. A mixed relay team must comprise at least one male and one female.
    2. At all meets, a club may enter a maximum of two relay teams per event.
    3. A Relay Entry Form must be filled out and submitted to the Recording Desk as per the requirements of each Meet.
  7. Determination of Age:
    Age as at the day of the meet.
  8. Medals and Ribbons:
    1. Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters in each age group.  At the Handicap Meet, medals will be awarded to the first three place getters in each final.
      Ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams in relays.
    2. A participation ribbon will be awarded to all non-medallists in the 6/U year category who compete in a 25m event at Peninsula Challenge Meets.
    3. Note: 6/U is one category and medals will only be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters in this age category.
  9. Records: WASA Records will be recognised by the award of Record Certificate.
    For Record purposes, age is determined as at the day of the meet.

 

10. Point Scores

10. Point Scores:

    1. Points for each meet (except the Handicap Meet) will be awarded as follows:
      Individual Events Relays
      1st 8 points 1st 16 points
      2nd 7 points 2nd 14 points
      3rd 6 points 3rd 12 points
      4th 5 points 4th 10 points
      5th 4 points 5th 8 points
      6th 3 points 6th 6 points
      7th 2 points 7th 4 points
      8th & greater 1 point 8th & greater 2 points

      Where two or more swimmers (or teams) are placed equal, the appropriate points shall be allocated for that placing.  The next numerical placing (and points) will be omitted.

      Where a swimmer is disqualified, or does not achieve the qualifying time in an event with a qualifying time, no points will be awarded.

    2. At Handicap Meets, points will be awarded as follows:
      Individual Events Relays
      1st 8 points 1st 16 points
      2nd 7 points 2nd 14 points
      3rd 6 points 3rd 12 points
      4th 5 points 4th 10 points
      5th 4 points 5th 8 points
      6th & greater 3 points 6th 6 points

      A swimmer will receive one point for each heat in which they compete.  Where a swimmer (or team) is disqualified, no points will be awarded.

    3. Club Pointscore: The Club Point Score will consist of points awarded for all events (as per 10A and 10B) during the season, with a Perpetual Trophy awarded to the champion club.
    4. Perpetual Trophies: will be awarded each year to the club with the highest points:
      Meet Trophy
      Peninsula Challenge Meets 1 and 2 Curly Meakin Trophy
      Handicap Meet Isa Wye Memorial Trophy
      Jenny Oates Championship Meet Jenny Oates Memorial Trophy
      Combined point score of the above three meets Warringah Trophy
    5. Age and Open Champions – Jenny Oates Championship Meet:
      Points will be awarded to swimmers in each 50 metre event they swim in. These points will count towards the Age Champion Point Score for 6/U, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,13, 14, 15-29 and 30/O years.
      Points will be awarded to swimmers in each open event in which they swim, and will
      count towards the Open Champion Point Score.
